Innovation Lead Engineer (M/F/D)

Our location in Röttingen, with almost 250 future-oriented employees, would be glad to have you as a part of our team as Innovation Lead Engineer for Charge Port applications.

Tasks

• Lead innovation projects from early discovery through to business case validation according to the process
• Identify and deeply understand customer pain points through direct engagement
• Translate insights into clear value propositions and quantified benefits
• Develop and validate business cases, including financial and strategic impact
• Collaborate closely with innovation engineer, platform innovation teams, sales & engineering, and prototype teams to design and develop customer-based innovations
• Guide regular technical direction while ensuring alignment with customer needs and business goals
• Balance feasibility, scalability, and cost-effectiveness in solution design
• Drive the identification and intellectual protection of innovative concepts
• Identify future opportunities based on market trends, customer insights, and technology evolution and collaborate with internal sales teams to align innovation with market opportunities
• Present concepts, progress, and value propositions to both technical and non-technical (top management) stakeholders
• Develop and maintain product innovation roadmaps aligned with business strategy
• Prioritize initiatives based on value, feasibility, and strategic fit

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Innovation Management, or related field
• 5+ years of proven experience in leading innovation or product development projects
• Strong organizational skills, social competence, and enthusiasm
• Strong ability to translate customer needs into technical and business solutions
• Excellent communication skills in English & German
• Strategic and analytical mindset with hands-on execution capability
• Flexible, resilient, diligent, and reliable
• Automotive experience and CAD-design knowledge is a plus
• International travel up to 25% required
